Reaching Out
Have you ever felt invisible, as though no one noticed you or cared? Our world is filled with the overlooked. Prisoners, the disabled, the aged, the homeless, orphaned children, unwed mothers, people with AIDS and HIV . . . so many are not seen as people, but only as cases or problems.
Jesus sees them and He loves them. When He walked this earth He often took special care to find them, touch them, and give their lives new meaning. He wants to do the same today, touching their lives through His people.
Shepherd Gate Church members are reaching out to the unseen and untouched with the love of Jesus. But they need your help. Some do jail ministry, sharing the good news of Jesus with the prisoners. Some work with the disabled through Merica House, a residential facility for severely disabled men and women. Others visit nursing homes or assist with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries. And we can put you in contact with organizations that provide support for unwed mothers, too.
Imagine the joy when you finally meet someone who cares, someone who sees you as a person Jesus loves. Would you let God use you to reach the unseen and touch the hurting with His Love? He promises you rich rewards if you do, for when we help them, it is as if we are helping Jesus himself.
