Jesus gave his followers a mission. They would go into every part of the world, announcing the good news of His Kingdom. As they did so, some people from every ethnic or tribal group would become His disciples. Those new disciples, filled with the same Spirit, would then go to others until, eventually, the whole earth would be filled with the knowledge of His glory.
Jesus did not intend that that first group of disciples would finish the mission, only begin it. He knew they would pass the mission on to others, from generation to generation, right up to today.
It's working. Empowered by His Spirit, motivated by His love, followers of Jesus have taken His message, often at great personal cost, to the people of the world.
Shepherd Gate Church actively supports world missions. We help to support workers who do evangelism, leadership training, Bible translation, development, and other forms of ministry. We support them through our prayers and with our finances. A significant portion of Shepherd Gate's yearly budget goes straight to world missions.
